The first French edition was published in 1822. Contemporary fawn half-sheep. Smooth spine with fillets. Spine re-backed with lacks to head and foot. The Battle of Halidon Hill is a well-known historical fact that takes place among the wars of Scottish independence. The Scots were decimated by English archers and lost 4000 soldiers, while the English lost only 14. A note by the author specifies that the play is intended to be read, not performed.
