Founded in 1825 by Charles Lautour-Mezeray and Émile de Girardin, the review appeared every five days and covered literature as well as sciences, fine arts and social customs. It published mainly historical chronicles, travel accounts and society pieces on France or foreign countries, stories and novellas, or sections devoted to theatre, fashion, court news and miscellaneous items, most often reprinted from other newspapers of the time.
Copy from the André Vasseur collection bearing his bookplate.
Some marginal foxing and fold marks, otherwise handsome interior condition for this rare example of a literary and general interest review from the early 19th century.
