Four years later she was delegated by Pope Nicholas IV to assist in the foundation of the monastery of Proceno and became its prioress at age 13. At the request of her fellow citizens she established a Dominican convent in Montepulciano which she directed until her death. She was canonized in 1726 by Benedict XIII. This work directly follows this canonization. This saint became the object of deep devotion in South America where several churches bear her name.
