    Contemporary glazed blonde calf binding. Decorated spine with raised bands. Red morocco title label. One lack at head of upper joint. Tail slightly worn. Traces of rubbing. 2 corners slightly bumped. Small water stains on boards. Handsome copy.
    In this letter to Abbé Conti, Madame Riccoboni delivers a critique and essay on translation. One can discern a modern thinking, reacting against adaptations.

    Contemporary full black morocco binding. Smooth spine in Jansenist style. Gilt title. Wide inner gilt border. Pink silk endpapers. All edges gilt. Spine sunned to greenish tone. Minor rubbing to headcaps and corners. Handsome copy in contemporary morocco. Fresh overall, rare small worming in margins.
    Translation by Pierre Leclerc, French Jansenist refugee in Holland, of the Homilies of Saint Gregory, 11th-century pope who gave his name to the reform of the same name.
