The first edition of Aesop's Fables by Boursault dates from 1690. It is a comic play, which consists of illustrating Aesop's fables through short scenes, with Aesop himself as the main character.

Translation by Pierre Leclerc, French Jansenist refugee in Holland, of the Homilies of Saint Gregory, 11th-century pope who gave his name to the reform of the same name.
