At the beginning of our copy has been tipped in the second volume, text of a lecture given by the author in Boston in 1938, expanded with 3 original photographs with manuscript annotations by the work's previous owner.
Furthermore, tipped in at the end, our copy is expanded with an autograph letter from Cardinal Villeneuve to his correspondent regarding the true birthplace of Christopher Columbus (Calvi instead of Genoa).

Binding in half navy blue morocco with corners, back with five nerves slightly lightened and discolored, split joints in heads and feet, framing of gilt fillets on the plates of marbled paper, guards and contreplats of handmade paper, preserved covers, head golden.
Book decorated with many illustrations.
Autograph tribute signed by Pierre-Georges Rey on a letterhead headed by the secretary of the province of Quebec.
Our copy is enriched with a business card of Mrs. Raymond Poincaré on which she added a few words by way of present offering this book to a student of a high school of Bar-le-Duc , description label of bookstore pasted below of Madame Poincaré's card.
