Rare autograph dedication signed by Guillaume Apollinaire: "A Edouard Gazanion, his friend, Guillaume Apollinaire".
Our copy includes, in addition, seven corrections to the pen of the hand of Apollinaire.
Edouard Gazanion, for his part, made in pencil many additions of punctuation and a textual correction corresponding to the pre-original versions of some poems previously published in the literary magazine La Phalange .
Poet of the bohemian Montmartre of the beginning of the last century, pillar of the Agile Rabbit, familiar with the Bouscarat of the Place du Tertre or the Bateau-Lavoir, Gazanion is by turns the good friend and the intimate of the writers, poets and painters of the Butte at their beginnings, Max Jacob, Pierre Mac Orlan, Roland Dorgelès, Gaston Couté, Andre Salmon, Pablo Picasso, Andre Warnod, Louis Marcoussis or Francis Carco who admires his Songs for the one who did not come ( Vers and Prose , 1910 ) and often nurses at his house the days of drought. His meeting with Apollinaire goes back to the Golden Sun, the time when he recites for the first time his Rhenish Night - it is 1903. Poets, they will not lose sight more. Gazanion will stand out for the defense of Mamelles de Tiresias during the memorable heckling of their performance.
Pleasant copy beautifully drawn in an elegant binding signed and featuring a rare autograph dedication of the poet.
