FIRSTS | London's Rare Books Fair 2022 - Catalogue Le Feu Follet

In these shifting and historical times for Great Britain marked by a lot of firsts, we proudly participate in
Firsts: London’s Rare Book Fair focusing this year on the books which radically changed their time.

Le Feu Follet created a catalogue of first editions and pamphlets giving a voice to the never-ending fight for the universality of human rights, namely honouring the women who made history:

You will find seminal works on the defense of women's rights (Olympe de Gouges and James Lawrence)
and the abolition of slavery during the French Revolution (Pierre Brissot de Warville).

The fight against anti-Semitism during the Dreyfus Affair is championed by the works of Jaurès, Zola, Blum – lastly, we present Robert Antelme’s fundamental account of the Buchenwald concentration camp in an inscribed copy to a fellow prisoner and central character of his book.

You’ll also find an important set of letters and manuscript poems by Renée Vivien, one of the early and greatest English lesbian poets, who was Clifford Barney’s passionate lover.

Along with a selection of exceptional first editions from landmarks of French and foreign literature, including Rimbaud, Flaubert, Camus, Sand, García Márquez, Yourcenar…

We trust you will enjoy perusing this selection!
