Félicien Rops

The Wallonia-Brussels center presents an exhibition of drawings and engravings of Felicien Rops, Max Klinger, Alfred Kubin and Armand Simon.

September 25, 2014 to January 4, 2015


The exhibition is an invitation to test the limits of our consciousness through the graphical imagination a hundred drawings and prints four exceptional artists, Félicien Rops (1833-1898), Max Klinger (1857- 1920), Alfred Kubin (1877-1959) and Armand Simon (1906-1981), whose respective works reveal clear links and common concerns.

Around five themes, the dream, the feminine, Eros, death or "the uncanny" (Unheimlich), the exhibition explores the similarities and matching them works presented but also the specificities of each creators, between dreamlike or hallucinatory visions of the world.
