Original pencil depicting a woman sitting with her hands folded, wearing a dress with oversized draping and flowers in hair design. Stamp of the artist in the lower left of the sheet.
Achilles Devéria (1800-1857) was a French painter, illustrator and engraver, pupil of Girodet-Trioson. It is recognized and has published numerous lithographs (Tales of Perrault, Don Quixote, Robinson Crusoe, The Henriade ...) illustrator. In 1849 he was appointed director of the department of prints of the National Library and assistant curator of the Egyptian department of the Louvre.
The famous portrait of Honore de Balzac young man (1825) is assigned. He painted in his Paris studio on Rue de l'Ouest.
