Clandestine publication illustrated anonymous, it was founded by neo-dada historical surrealist such Adolphe Acker, Robert Rius (Secretary of André Breton) and Christine Boomester, auquels add some youth often freshly converted to Trotskyism from the magazine The Streetlights (Jean-François Chabrun, Marc Patin, Gerard de Sede, soon joined by Noël Arnaud). Eight of its members die in Nazi bullets or camps: Tita, Hans Schoenhoff, Jean-Pierre Mulotte, Jean-Claude Diamant-Berger, Marc Patin, Marco Menegoz Robert Rius and Jean Simonpoli. The magazine changed its name to each delivery. Paul Eluard, Pablo Picasso, Jean Arp, Paul Delvaux, René Magritte, Henry Maurice, Maurice Blanchard, Laurence Iché, Raoul Ubac and especially Oscar Dominguez to collaborate.
