First Edition. Bound in half roan cherry, flat spine decorated with gilt fillets quadruple, cuts and corners rubbed, wrappers preserved and bound in annual, contemporary binding. Illustrations in black. Le Petit Parisien is a French newspaper that existed from 1876 to 1944 and was one of the major newspapers in the Third Republic. On the eve of the war of 1914-18, it is one of the four largest French daily pre-war, with Le Petit Journal, Le Matin and Le Journal. The newspaper was founded by Louis Andrieux, radical MP and prosecutor, October 15, 1876 with Jules Roche, a colleague of Andrieu Bar, as editor. Le Petit Parisien in its infancy is rather radical and anticlerical trend (left). It quickly becomes quite popular. First, Le Petit Parisien informed of the case without taking sides. Then he made his first doubts about the merits of the charges. He pleads for a fast retrial. From 4 April 1904, Le Petit Parisien appears with a sub-title, which will be justified for thirty years: "The highest circulation newspapers around the world." Nice copy. --- Please note that the translation in english is done automatically, we apologize if the formulas are inaccurate. Contact us for any information!
