André MALRAUX Les voix du silence

André MALRAUX

Les voix du silence

Gallimard, Paris 1951, 18x23cm, reliure de l'éditeur.

First edition, one of the numbered copies on vellum, one draw. Cardboard Editor connected according to the original model of Paul Bonet. Precious autograph dedication signed by the author Maurice Blanchot: "... who is no stranger to some developed this edition it - well sympathetically." Malraux is referring to the double Blanchot article on "The Imaginary Museum" published in 1950-51 in "Reviews". Blanchot opposes Malraux's own conception of art. For his dedication, Malraux reflects consideration for the critical judgment of Blanchot whose thinking is, according to Henri Godard, "a center of our thinking about art, which Malraux could embody the other." This article, which was to Blanchot the beginning of a fruitful reflection on the picture, also influenced Malraux reshuffled his text to republish it in the first part of the "Voices of Silence." Blanchot who had already signed at the end of the war a major article on Malraux summon one last time his father figure at the end of the last story, "The Moment of my death": "Later, returned to Paris, he met Malraux . latter told him that he had been taken prisoner (without being recognized), he managed to escape, while losing a manuscript. ... Whatever! Only remains the feeling of lightness that is death or even, to put it more precisely, the moment of my death now pending. " Rich iconography. Back slightly insolated as often.
