Jules JANIN Billet autographe signé Jules Janin à son ami M. Moreau

Jules JANIN

Billet autographe signé Jules Janin à son ami M. Moreau

1847, 12x18,5cm, une feuille.

Signed autograph ticket Jules Janin on January 11, 1847.
A sheet with folds on the back. Mr. Moreau.
Jules Janin apologizes for not being able to accompany his friend Moreau to Joinville, because it is "riveted to the ankle of the soap opera". The man who was nicknamed "The Prince of Critics" had the glory of having written 2240 weekly serials in newspapers, (mainly in the Journal des débats) he thus testifies in this missive of the hard work for which he was responsible. Pierre Moreau, also a journalist, later wrote about Jules Janin. Although his action was severely criticized by historians of literature, Janin is the product of an era and crossed the nineteenth century literary with a fierce conservatism, preferring Beranger to Heine.
