First edition. Neat print on thin paper. Illustrated with 20 woodcuts in a rough and popular taste, and a medallion portrait frontispiece (intaglio). The original date of 1606 Half Calf glossy navy late nineteenth, spine ribbed features 5 jewels. The copy, perfectly white, appears to have been washed. Giulio Cesare Croce (1550-1609), born in the province of Bologna, comes from a poor family, he studied medicine and then embarked on a literary career, and died poor.
