Full set in 33 volumes of La Comédie humaine, from the complete works of Honoré de Balzac, published by Conard from 1912. Text revised and annotated by Marcel Bouteron and Henri Longnon.
One of 50 copies on papier ancien du Japon numbered and initialled by the publisher, most limited issue with a duplicate suite of the plates on Chine. 
Illustrations by Charles Huard, wood-engraved by Pierre Gusman, each with a duplicate print on Chine.
3/4 chocolate-brown morocco bindings, spines with five raised bands framed in gilt, blind-stamped motif in between, numerously ruled in gilt at head and foot of spines, gilt title and volume number, marbled paper boards, original covers preserved, endpapers and pastedowns in marbled paper, top edge gillt, all signed Canape. Some edges slightly rubbed, very homogeneous set in exceptionnally good condition.
Handsome set, elaborately illustrated and housed in elegant bindings by Georges Canape.
