François LE PREVOST D'EXMES & Joseph de LAPORTE La revue des feuilles de Mr. Freron

François LE PREVOST D'EXMES & Joseph de LAPORTE

La revue des feuilles de Mr. Freron

S.n., à Londres 1756, in-12, viij, 3-140 121-406p., 2 parties reliées en un volume.

First edition, rare. The second part is entitled to: Analysis of some great philosophical works, preceded Reflections on criticism. Full glossy blond marbled calf contemporary. Smooth back decorated. Part of title in red morocco. Triple Net framework on boards and weapons struck large centers. Very nice copy. the second part has its own title page, as well as its half-title. The arms of the Princess Line, Henriette-Anne-Eugénie de Mézières Bethizy, wife of Prince Line (Claude Lamoral Hyacinthe Ferdinand, Marquis de Moy and Dormans). Olivier I, pl. 15: two crowns fused: I, large parts of Lorraine; on all party at 1 gold band Gules (Line); at 2, simple Lorraine; II, azure fretted gold six parts (Bethizy). It should be noted that female weapons are usually much rarer than male. The literary journal Freron (declared enemy of the party and philodophes main target of Voltaire) had considerable success since its inception in 1754, it still seemed as sheets, later forming volumes. LE PREVOST D'EXMES establishes a critical rule in périodiste Freron and the Literary Review. Freron vilified not only philosophers but the literature of his time. The second, more philosophical advocate for philosophers and the work of several authors as Diderot and Rousseau. Behind the criticism of the company Freron, reveals an ethics of writing and criticism. The work is composed in the form of letters to a lady in London. A useful table of contents allows you to find the themes and ideas discussed and the authors. --- Please note that the translation in english is done automatically, we apologize if the formulas are inaccurate.
