Collective first edition. A portrait etching by Commanville. Edition ne varietur based on the manuscripts of Mme Commanville, the niece of Flaubert to whom he had bequeathed his manuscripts. Superior vellum printing.
Binders in half red shagreen contemporary. Back with nerves adorned with 4 florets. Author and golden titles. A dark band at the tail of volume 3. Rammed on the back of volume 7. Friction on the edges and on the corners, and slightly on some boards. Overall overall well fresh, with a few rare foxinges.
