First edition of the French translation, one of 31 numbered copies on "pur-fil" paper, only leading copies.
Binding in half morocco of Russia green bottle with corners, smooth back entirely discolored adorned with golden cartridges decorated with gilded typographic florets, golden date in tail, golden shield of the castle of Vertcoeur at the head of the first board, framing of golden nets on the boards of marbled paper, guards and contreplats of handmade paper, two ex-libris glued on a contreplat, covers and back preserved, yellow head, Contemporary binding signed by Yseux.
Some small foxinges.
Our copy is enriched, tab mounted, of an autograph ticket signed Ernst Robert Curtius, in French, to Count Philippon thanking him for a benevolent article about him and all stamped with humanism and pacifism in these times of rise totalitarianisms.
We also attach a postcard of the same to the same.
