First edition, first printing copy, although full of 6 pieces convicted and having fault "Feurs Evil" on pages 31 and 108, and page fault on page 45 (marked 44), third state coverage ( cf. Clouzot). Bound in full black morocco, spine with five nerves, date tail wheels on golden headdresses, golden fillet on turns, management of a wide gold lace on the guards, guards and contreplats paper bowl, cover and back preserved, all edges gilt, lined case the same morocco binding signed Bernasconi. First and foremost collection of poems of Baudelaire, the work was partially censored upon its release for "offending public decency, morality and religious morality." The 200 unsold copies were seized and six amputees poems. Item founder of modern poetry, "Les Fleurs du Mal" prefigures the works of Lautréamont, Rimbaud, Verlaine and Mallarmé.
