Mercure de France, Paris 1918, 14x23cm, relié.

First Edition, one of the former first numbered the press issue. Bound in half morocco hazelnut, smooth back, tail date, framing a golden fillet on plates covered with paper, and guards contreplats almond paper, covers and spine preserved, gilded head, binding signed Devauchelle. Very rare and valuable shipment of the author, who died a few months after the publication of the book. Our copy is enriched, page 189, for an autograph correction G. Apollinaire. Frontispiece, a portrait of the author by Pablo Picasso. Blankets and sheets were first mounted on tabs. Very nice copy in the light of the extreme fragility of this paper. Two bookplate pasted on a guard.
