Half bound in brown shagreen, spine 4 nerves decorated with dotted gilt title and volume number gilt golden chains and double gold thread on entrenerfs black calico stuck on the boards, triple frame-stamped on covers, some small snags, traces of friction, internal charges, contemporary bindings. Few pages of Volume II Songs of Beranger are a little disconnected but still hold some boards are detached but present. Volumes I and II each contain 53 steel engravings by Charlet, A. DE LEMUD, JOHANNOT, LOFT, JACQUE, PAUQUET, Penguilly, DE RUDDER, RAFFET and Sandoz. Music Beranger is illustrated by GRANDVILLE, many full-page hors-texte plates, black and white. The book contains rated and ancient and modern tunes, plus music tunes posthumous songs composed by BERANGER, HALEVY, and GOUNOD LAWRENCE RILLE. The last songs of Beranger, from 1834 to 1851 are enriched with a letter and a preface by the author. Beautiful set of four volumes featuring the works of BERANGER ornate illustrations by GRANDVILLE, Charlet, A.
