French Edition. The first edition of the Italian text is 1607. Illustrated with two allegorical frontispiece signed Gr Huret. Uncommon Edition. A copy of the BN France 1628, and another at the British Library. Nothing in French and English union catalogs. Vellum full time with flaps. Smooth back with title pen partly illegible. Traces of laces. Scattered pale foxing. Antonio Maria Spelta (1559-1632) was a writer, scholar and historian of Padua, is remembering the Erasmus Praise of folly he wrote this collection consists of both reflections on madness, others topics ranging astrologers hunters, historical anecdotes. The first part aims to develop a more praise of folly despite satire always present, while the second part provides an array of men and professions in the throes of madness, the unpredictable and vanity. The alert and biting pen Spelta crunches perfectly portrait of madness in his every attire. Singular book. --- Please note that the translation in english is done automatically, we apologize if the formulas are inaccurate. Contact us for any information!
