It is illustrated with 38 numbered boards, including two fold-outs, 15 for the first volume and 23 for the second, and 35 in-text wooden figures.
Binding in full blonde blonde contemporary. Back with ornate nerves. Head and tail piece in blond morocco. Rubbed together. The planks are cut shorter. Fresh package. The guard papers are not the same on 2 volumes, they have been changed. A restoration at the tail of volume II. Part of volume II with lack (friction) on the term Rustic. Pretty good copy, which one meets most often badly connected.
An eighteenth-century editorial success, the Rustic House is an encyclopedia of rural and agricultural life; it deals with all matters in a practical and usual manner: a chapter on bees, but also on construction and gardens and how to conceive it, the farmyard, horses, harvests, all trees, shrubs, birds, cooking, vineyards, fishing, hunting ... Its success is to have concentrated as much practical knowledge (without facilities or vulgarizations) of a almost playful for the reader, the chapters on the garden are exemplary in this regard.
