Antonin CAREME

Chez L'auteur, Bossange père, Paris 1828, Grand in 8, relié.

Rare first edition. Wrongly confused with a new edition because of the mention of the title, it's actually, if one believes the foreword by the author, a recovery of a chapter of "Royal Pastry "completely reworked and expanded with new recipes and designs. "Decorated with 25 plates drawn by the author and engraved line by MM. Normand son, Hibon and Thierry Work." With the author, Paris, 1828, 422pp. (25 boards including a title engraved frontispiece). A clear wetting affects the title pages, the book presents some spots and there is a little lack of cover page, corners lightly bumped, otherwise fine copy. Stamp and bookplate of Frederic Bastien, patissier. Autograph signature of the author.
