Third edition, the first in-8 in Basel after two folio published in Paris in 1550 and 1554 for the first text. The following two texts are first edition. Text column, 33 lines per column. Absent Brunet.
Full brown calf spotted eighteenth. Back with five nerves decorated with a piece of red morocco, caissons and gold jewels. All red edges. Flat upper jaw split over the whole length. Small works to the front cover and the lower tail cap flat. Three corners bumped. Pale foxing. Small to work on the first guard.
Both eminent jurist and theologian no less renowned Renaissance, François Baudouin facilitated his studies in a very specific thesis at the junction of two disciplines; it is set out in search of historical sources and true law, particularly the Roman law. His work and his thoughts on the 12 tables of the law are placed in this context.
