The first three volumes contain all letters of Greece, the last contains other pamphlets author: Essays on the Elegies of Tibullus (followed by the translation of the latter), The Seasons Poems and light. Many floral headbands and cul-de-lamp (baskets of flowers, carnations ...). Plein blond marbled calf at the time. Back smooth decorated with parts of title and volume number of green morocco, small floral golden jewels and a golden tail lace. Triple gold frames on the flat. All marbled. Head cover of the first volume leveled. Some wormholes on the back of the second and third volumes. Slit tail jaws on the first volume. Six blunted. Corners Scuffs. Some pale foxing angular. Work to the detriment of the entire right bottom corner of the third volume. Beautiful aspect of the wider exemplaire.Plus than the title seems, Literary Travel Greece contains extensive information on the Turks, Armenians and their manners, and of board the people of Greece. The letters are the work of a merchant residing in Constantinople, Sir Guys, addressed to an art lover, Bourlat of Montredont. Deeply enamored of polite literature and research on the ancient world, the author's description of Greece, its manners and customs, draws his material from the writers of antiquity by establishing constant parallels with Greece modern, showing how much she finds all Greek literature. Each letter refers to a subject, many are intended for the art, but some more specific focus on furniture, jewelry, makeup, parties, conventions, baths, architecture, and of board, an interesting field especially the author: trade and navigation.
