Third augmented edition of this important artistic guide of the Paris of Louis XV. A title-frontispice engraved in colors by J. Robert & 5 inset plates including 2 unfolding by Choffart, Saint-Aubin. Four of them, signed Choffard (1730-1809), reproduce the illustrations of the previous edition (1752). It is the Mausoleum of Henry II of Bourbon, Prince of Condé, by Jacques Sarazin in the church of Saint-Louis of the Jesuits (now reinstalled in the chapel of the castle of Chantilly), the tombs of the painter Charles Le Brun and his mother at Saint-Nicolas-du-Chardonnet, and the fountain in the rue de Grenelle de Bouchardon. A fifth unpublished plate has been added for this new edition: engraved by Fessard after Augustin de Saint-Aubin, it represents the Mausoleum of Languet de Gergy by Michelangelo Slodtz in Saint-Sulpice. The first edition did not include any engraving.
Full marbled frozen brown calf. Back to nerves adorned. Title piece in red morocco. Upper and lower joints split tightly in the tail. Headdress and restored corners.
