Original French edition published at the same time as an edition in 2 volumes in-4 at the same publisher, it is increased the trip to Norway Mallet. The first English edition was published in London in 1784. The illustration includes 12 maps and pamphlets (Poland, Russia, Caspian Sea, Dannemarc), 4 portraits engraved by Topfler (Stanislas Augustus, Catherine II, Pugat Chef, Gustave III) and 3 unfolding boards, one of which is Swedish and Swedish, and one for ornithology. A fifth volume has been constituted as an atlas, with 11 unfolding linked maps, the twelfth map of the Caspian Sea is in volume 3.
Binding in full icy blond calf vintage. Back with nerves adorned with nets. title label in red morocco, piece of tomaison in a green morocco medallion. Large trace of brown wetting on the first third of bindings.
Missing titles 1, 2, and 4 are missing.
Copy of the Comte de Segur, with the blue stamp of his castle Les Nouettes (Orne) repeated on the titles. Nice copy.
English historian, Coxe traveled to the countries of the North in 1778 and 1779. The parts on Sweden and Dannemarc are particularly interesting, the author is concerned about the political system, demography, religion, trade. The chapters on Poland are more historical, Coxe portrays the revolutions of Poland.
