Published without publisher's name and containing, for the first time, the full text of Confessions, the first three books were published in the collective edition 4to 1782. Edition edition is illustrated with 46 plates, 37 engraved titles after Marillier, Naigeon, Le Clerc, Monnet, Moreau the Younger, Boucher, etc. The Barber. and 13 musical scores (in volume XXII). The figures in this edition are partly reductions in 4 luxury edition 1782. The number of boards varies copies but does not reach the figure of 90 announced by the publisher. (Cohen) Our copy does not include the volume of botanical plates, which probably sold separately and was expensive. Half calf cherry corners. Smooth back wheels decorated with garlands and gold rosettes.
