First edition of this translation of Moutonnet Clairfonds and first print of the illustration, which includes a frontispiece, 12 headers and 13 tail-lamp Eisen, engraved by Massard and Duclos. Title page in red and red morocco noir.Plein late nineteenth signed Pickering. Spine ribbed Jansenist. Large inner frieze. Gilt edges. Small brown spots on upper cover. Despite minimal defects reported, beautiful exemplaire.A rightly Cohen cites the book as "one of the most elegantly illustrated books of the eighteenth century"; the provision of Eisen is indeed difficult and inspired, and prints headers are made superiorly. --- Please note that the translation in english is done automatically, we apologize if the formulas are inaccurate.
