Byzantine monk and historian (attached to Hagia Sophia) writing in Greek (1236-1335), his Ecclesiastical History in eighteen books hounds the origins of Christianity until 618. If in the first centuries of its history, we can still reconstruct some sources, for the last two centuries, the documents in which the author has drawn entirely disappeared. All editions were made on a single extant manuscript. The work is a document of great importance to certain religions, notably the tripartite ecclesiastical vierge.L'histoire was collected by Cassiodorus (477-560) of Sozomen, Socrates Scholastica and Theodoret. This story sums up in a single work the works of three Greek historians who had drawn with common sources.
