Chez Nicolas Bryling, Bâle 1554, très fort petit in 8, (6) 936pp. -17., relié.

New edition. Although we have not found any trace of this edition of Basel, the first edition was published in Venice, Aldus in 1527 (with a different snack). Absent the BN of France and the French catalogs. Oxford has an edition of the same date. English catalogs mention multiple copies on different dates. Print in italics. Beautiful German binding contemporary of pigskin with clasps in perfect condition. Back to 3 nerves with bare piece of paper as handwritten pen, stamped boards cold frame casters (scrolls with medallions representing Erasmus of Rotterdam and Philipe Milan Martin de Paris, John?). Central rectangle with interlacing foliage mirrored patterns. Wettings 2 on the top plate (a diameter of 2 cm and 4 cm from each other outwardly directed). Fresh paper. Priscian, was a Roman grammarian of the sixth century AD. JC, whose Latin name is priscianus caesariensis (name of his hometown Caesarea in Mauritania) We know ultimately little of his life, if he professed to Constantinople, and especially its capital structure to which it owes its fame the grammaticae Institutiones (at 18 pounds) became the reference of Latin grammar until the late Middle Ages. This book is a collection which includes various works Priscian, linguistic work or translation of Hermogenes and Dionysius Périgète. --- Please note that the translation in english is done automatically, we apologize if the formulas are inaccurate.
