The first edition appeared in 1744, and its chronology is therefore stopped at the date 1743; This latest edition continues the chronology until 1764; this is followed by tablets popes, writers, great men in science and the arts. Each page is surrounded by a double black border. Full mottled calf époue. Back tooled raised irons cobweb. Part of title and volume number in brown morocco. Head cover partially frayed. Same cap Tail Volume I. higher volume II cracked head and queue.L'ouvrage Mors is in the form of a timeline. The works of the Abbe Lenglet du Fresnoy are still regarded as treasures of erudition; he focused among other areas of literary criticism, philosophy, history or geography. It was a very clever complilateur.
