The dispute over the military nobility and shopping was originally launched by the work of the Abbe Coyer who committed the nobility to engage in trade, this first book was followed by answers, objections and pamphlets throughout the year 1756. Our copy includes three essays related to this controversy. We know that the nobility was primarily military, trade was long considered the work of the lower classes.
