First Edition, illustrated with 25 aquatints by Mérigot son. Full Sheepskin rooted, clever pastiche of the twentieth. Back to nerves Jansenist. Part of title in red morocco. Nice copy. This is one of the first books on English gardens in France, the Marquis Louis-René de Girardin conceived in honor of Rousseau whose vision of nature inspired him, which also spent the last six weeks of his life Ermenonville where he was buried.
