Autobiographical memoirs of a louse, which goes from head to head, embellishing his confessions of philosophical reflections, is found on the head of the queen, then on that of Benjamin Franklin. It is essentially a political satire of business between France and the United States, there are fictitious dialogues, especially between the Minister of Marine and Benjamin Franklin. It is unveiled a great project to seize England to share it between France, Spain and the United States. This curiosity was written after Benjamin Franklin's delegation to France in 1778, commissioned by the American Congress; it was on this occasion that Louis XVI signed the treaty which recognized the independence of the United States as a nation, and that England signed the independence of the thirteen colonies.
Ex libris engraved of the twentieth with the motto Nec ridendo vellicat.
